She may be divorced twice over, but that’s not stopping superstar Madonna from doling out marital advice on NBC’s The Marriage Ref! The pop music icon is joining comedians, Larry David and Ricky Gervais, on a brand-new episode of Jerry Seinfeld’s reality advice show tonight. Keep reading to find out what The Marriage Ref himself had to say about Madge’s visit…
“The minute I saw [Madonna] backstage,” says Papa, “I knew she was going to be great because she was playful and fun. She came out there, sat between Ricky Gervais and Larry David and held her own. She was not backing down!” According to previews for tonight’s episode of The Marriage Ref, Larry David and Madonna get into a few tiffs of their own.
At the end of the episode, Larry David said, “This is easily the most uncomfortable hour I’ve ever spent in my life.” Madonna quickly sniped back, asking, “Why? Because you’re sitting next to a woman who is standing up to you?”
Watch a preview of the singer joining Brit comedian Ricky Gervais and Larry David to talk about couples’ problems.
In a special preview clip, you can see Madonna, in a grey dress with fishnet tights, black heels and blonde tousled locks, hold her own against Ricky Gervais and Larry David as they debate marital disputes.
Other panelists on the show include Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria Parker and 30 Rock’s Tina Fey.
One of the celebrity judges on Jerry Seinfeld’s new reality show, ‘The Marriage Ref’ will be Madonna. It’s a big time booking for Seinfeld’s new show. And when you consider that Alec Baldwin is another choice for marriage judge, the requirement for appearing on the show is not personal success with marital relations.
Sounds like ‘The Marriage Ref’ might be the new ‘Gong Show.’ In addition to Madonna and Baldwin, Kelly Ripa, Matt Lauer, Matthew Broderick, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman, Larry David, Ricky Gervais and Cedric the Entertainer have all been slated to appear as the refs.
There’s a special showing on Sunday, February 28, but the show begins for real with the premiere on Thursday, March 4.
